Closing out May 2026, active inventory across the retailers I track sat at 28,073,367 listings. Lab grown share, 64.3%. Lab grown is now the larger share of the listings I'm seeing. Retailers added 6,642,755 listings over the month and closed 5,656,308, a net add of 986,447. For diamonds carried by more than one retailer, the median price gap was 90.0%. That's the kind of gap that pays for shopping around. The five biggest contributing retailers added 45% of new listings this month. The top end did most of the listing this run. Median listing price for new arrivals, natural $1,277 and lab grown $916. That's 4.3% up on the prior month. Lab grown share rose 0.5 percentage points versus the prior month. The retailer spread widened 4.3 points, more room to save by comparing. Median listing price has been falling across the last 5 months. Biggest move on the upside: Princess median up 28.6% versus the prior month, now at $1,139. On the downside: Other median down 8.8%, sitting at $1,341. Natural median listing price is 16.5% down on the prior month. Lab grown median listing price is 8.7% up on the prior month. Round dominated new listings, taking 43% of arrivals this month.
