Closing out week 28 of 2026, active inventory across the retailers I track sat at 30,497,027 listings. Lab grown share, 65.3%. Lab grown is now the larger share of the listings I'm seeing. Retailers added 1,138,776 listings over the week and closed 3,210,450, a net drop of 2,071,674. For diamonds carried by more than one retailer, the median price gap was 77.6%. That's the kind of gap that pays for shopping around. The five biggest contributing retailers added 40% of new listings this week. The top end did most of the listing this run. Median listing price for new arrivals, natural $1,372 and lab grown $1,055. That's 9.3% down on the prior week. The retailer spread tightened 8.3 points, less room to save by switching. Biggest move on the upside: Round median up 12.3% versus the prior week, now at $847. On the downside: Other median down 34.9%, sitting at $1,152. Natural median listing price is 25.4% down on the prior week. Lab grown median listing price is 21.3% up on the prior week. Round dominated new listings, taking 42% of arrivals this week.

Price Change by Carat Tier, Week 28, 2026

Median price movement for diamonds in each carat tier during 6 to 13 July 2026. Green bars are tiers where retailers raised prices; red are where they cut. Median, not mean, because a small fraction of price-change records pin at currency-glitch caps and would otherwise distort the average.

Cross-retailer price spread distribution for diamonds, 6 to 13 July 2026
Cross-Retailer Price Spread, Week 28, 2026
